Saturday Morning Report Friday night - Registration pickup was done by the time we arrived; happy hour was inprogress. It was great to see a lot of the calls worked on the air, in person. I attended the contest dinner -- K6LRN was greeting folks in line, and seemed to know /remember a little about everyone he met. The 'Contester dinner' program was by Tim Duffy, K3LR, about the contest station at K3LR - What an AMAZING station that is. Tim lives in Oklahoma, commutes back to Western Pennsylvania to participate. More information on his site is available at K3LR.com... The biggest takeaway from the presentation for me was that preparation is key, and continous - He is ALWAYS working on improving something about the station. 365 days a year. Sometimes 24 hours a day; the little things (sending out qsl cards, neighbor relations, ergonomics, labelling, doing the cable job right) matter, and in aggregate they can help win. Saturday Morning The view this morning outside the hotel:
The tower with Old Glory on it is at 105', the closer one 72'. The tent next door is where the station is set up - Flexradio 5000 radio, Steppir Antenna. We're all eagerly awaiting the appearance of BS7... More pictures of the Flexradio presence in the convention display area:
